Dining at Mati's Meat and Bread
Admittedly, if I have a choice, I am not fond of going to Festival Supermall at Alabang. I'd rather go to Alabang Town Center because it has a much beautiful ambiance, for me, rather than the former. But since the boyfriend and I are very fortunate to get free Deal Grocer vouchers from my tita, our choice of restaurant is Mati's Meat and Bread which is located at River Park - a relatively new and one of the four expansion project of Festival Supermall to adhere to present-day mall operations.
Mati's Meat and Bread is a two-storey building restaurant. The first floor is high ceiling which I think helped in the good ventilation of the place. I did not smell of steak or pasta upon going out. I just noticed though that they have few servers. During our stay I only saw two, one of which I think is the branch manager or shift supervisor. Only when we were about to go out did I saw another female waitress. Oh well, we went in around 6PM so I guess, it is not yet a busy time?

Mama's Buffalo Wings
Verdict: The breading of the wings are sweet with a tinge of pepper after your last bite which makes it relatively new to my palate. It was served with blue cheese which goes well with it since it neutralizes the sweetness. It was cooked to a perfect golden brown and is still juicy but I still like my wings salty with a bit of spiciness. They also offer Papa's Spicy Wings which we can try on our next visit.

Seafood Pasta
Verdict: This is by far, my most favorite dish that night. It resembles the taste of Pesto pasta its just that the sauce is not green. Maybe because they also used basil, garlic and Parmesan in their sauce that is why it tasted similar. Nevertheless, the noodles were firm, not saggy nor overcooked. The toppings were shrimp, tuna, clams and mussels. Thank goodness I don't have an allergy for seafood, I can devour this in an instant without any concerns. =) I just wished it had more toppings though. But I can't really complain because the sauce was very well made, you can eat it by itself! It also comes along with bread.

USDA Steak with mashed potato & vegetable
Verdict; In the blogs that I have read, I learned that the owners of Mati's Meat and Bread is related to those of Melo's. The latter is known for it's high-quality and best tasting steak (that I haven't tried) that is why in Mati's they have also included it in their menu by serving in smaller grams. They still serve 300g rib eye which they will grill in your table but the smaller cuts are not to miss as well. The meat was tender but after trying a lot of steaks from different restaurants and as the boyfriend said, it lacks something in the taste to make it stand out from the rest.

The restaurant still has a lot to offer and we are excited to try the other dishes soon. Maybe, I'll just have to update this or post a different blog about it in the days to come. This is definitely a restaurant that I will add in our list of favorites. =)
