Plan the Perfect Tagaytay Staycation
Are you looking for a place to go to this coming long weekend? I've got a perfect suggestion for you!
We all know Tagaytay for the following iconic tourist spots: Picnic Grove, People's Park in the Sky, Bag of Beans and most importantly, Taal volcano. But in our moment of stereotyping and thinking that there is no other place we can go to in the area, the fiancè and I happened to discover these little gems in the heart of Tagaytay. So, get your pens ready and take note of these!
Where to stay?
Airbnb is a popular thing nowadays. It is an avenue where you can search for private homes or spaces being rented out in the area of your choice. It was my first time using it on our trip and I was super happy with the results. We picked a private unit called Nest @ Tagaytay (the link will direct you to their Airbnb page). Seeing and experiencing the place in actual was way beyond our expectation. Here's what we have to say to their place.
- The hosts, Brian and Brice, are really nice and accommodating. You can tell that they value their clients well by making extra efforts to make their stay relaxing and comfortable.
- The place is free from dirt. You can very well see it because the whole unit is painted in white.
- The layout and look of the unit is picturesque in every angle. I mean, you can take artistic shots in every corner of the room.
- The location of their place is near a 7-11 convenient store and a McDonald's for your immediate needs. They are also less than five minutes away from Ayala Malls Serin if you want to have a variety of restaurant choices. But if you're really decided to spend the entire day in their house, then bring in some food since they have a microwave and refrigerator for heating and storage.
- If you think you have been to all the tourist spots in Tagaytay, then don't fret. Brice and Brian has an answer to it: a 1TB hard drive that contains sooooo many movies and a Netflix subscription connected to their huge LED TV. They also have indoor and card games. #StaycationGoals achieved!

The hanging frames contains photos of people who stayed in their units. I personally loved the wooden stacks used as sofa. |
You will surely wake up fresh on the soft bed. I am SO IN LOVE the comforters - so fluffy! The door leads to the balcony. |
Now, isn't this the kindest gesture ever? They gave all the snacks, chocolates and toiletries for free! I fell for all these personal touches. |
"Staycationers" can write a short note in their mini journal. |
Libreng pang-pseudo prenup na din, mga beshies!
Totally worth going to! Guys, seriously, give it a try!!
Where to eat?
The Original Hawaiian BBQ in Tagaytay
We ate our lunch at this newly discovered barbecue place. What also led us to this choice is because the price of their food seemed reasonable. The restaurant is located at The Boutique Bed and Breakfast owned by Happy Ongpauco and Dexter Tiu. The same restaurant also offers food selection from Tsokolateria.
The Original Hawaiian Baby Back Ribs (Small - PhP380.00) |
1/2 Chicken Barbecue Platter (PhP315.00) |
Dreamland Arts and Crafts Cafe
I was very elated to learn that this cafe is 2 minutes away from our pad. We went there in the afternoon to have our snacks. It gives you an indie and reggae vibe through the frames and dream catchers hanging on their walls. All those dream catchers are for sale, just ask the sales person on the prices. Also, their food and drinks are made to order so expect longer minutes of waiting. We only tried their drinks and potato wedges but we heard their rice meals and pasta are great.
This is located in their loft. No wi-fi zone. Talk to each other. |
Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina
This isn't our first time eating in this restaurant but it is a joy to always comeback. Their food really delivers satisfaction and happiness! The best part of it? It's inexpensive. They also have branches in Kapitolyo, Pasig City, Solenad, Sta. Rosa City and Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa City.
Beef Nachos (PhP180.00) |
Grilled pork chop |
Long weekend trips doesn't always have to be grand. If you keep on looking for options persistently, then you might end up catching a better deal. Happy hunting!
