One year. First wedding anniversary. The first step out of the many footsteps to follow. By now, the husband and I have shared understanding of what a "happy" celebration should be that's why we chose to do a staycation to commemorate this milestone. You know how much of a laid back and boring couple we are. 😉 On another note, I would like to make a shout out to the husband who thought of preparing a surprise gift for me, I'm in love! ❤

I believe that celebrating our first anniversary should start with reminiscing on how the situation was a few weeks after our wedding. Remember the blog about my thoughts regarding the
beginning of this whole new chapter in our lives, where I wrote how I am at times still clueless of my roles but at the same time able to do household chores as if intuitively? Twelve months after... and we are still adjusting (apparently it's a fact that marriage will take a lifetime of getting used to) BUT I can now cook palatable meals! Super proud moment here haha, you can go and ask the husband. 😂 We also seem to already get a hang of each other's presence. As a matter of fact, we are subconsciously including each other in planning for activities outside our marriage. Yes, you should retain your "me time" but I don't know, we still end up considering and looking after each other. "What will he do if I'm away?" "What will my wife do and where will she wait for me if I attend this event?" Thoughts like that. Then again, you know what perspective did not changed? I am happy and contented, beyond comparison, with my decision of marrying this man I am with. And I'm praying we feel the same even 50 or 70 years from now.
Where did we celebrate this special event? We booked an overnight stay at the Acacia Hotel Manila in Alabang. What made us chose it was the proximity to famous restaurants and the good reviews about the hotel that I read online. Our room is a Deluxe King which includes all basic amenities, a bath tub, flat iron, safe etc. It was very spacious and the bed and pillows were very conducive for sleeping. We loved the food during the breakfast buffet although we found the welcome drinks too sweet. Maybe because we chose the non-alcoholic one?

Pretending to eat less but I actually got myself 4 servings in total. |
Acacia Hotel Manila offers several restaurants inside their premises but we chose to have our dinner outside just across the hotel at Tus Clay Pots and Skillet. Our anniversary was a Friday but the area was relatively quiet judging from the number of people dining in the restaurant. Their food did not disappoint most specially the half baked cookie! I'm a sucker for all kinds of desserts! Thank goodness anniversaries are exception for diet restrictions because I am currently in the process of cutting down my sugar intake.

I always say, your manner of celebration should always be a happy one not just for your partner and you but for your wallets as well. Choose practicality over luxury if it will compromise you financially. 👌 So, how and where do you intend to celebrate your milestones? 😎
