A Mother's Day Special Photo Set

Image
Our activity for this weekend is to collate all probable evidences on how much our mothers loved and cared for us through the years. I did a little backtrack and a surge of emotions came in. At the end of it all, I have two words for you Mom, THANK YOU! Thank you for always carrying me until I can walk on my own. Thank you for always assuring me of your unconditional love even when I am doubtful.

What's in store for you in Sagada?

Image
I consider myself lucky, because I still have the luxury to travel and to go to different places even if it is just once or twice a year, not everyone are as privileged. Last weekend, it was a Sagada trip with the boyfriend and a few new found friends. Admittedly, I am an obsessive-compulsive planner when it comes to vacation getaways. I gather all related information from the place, do's and don'ts, things to bring down to the appropriate clothes to wear. Of course, I do believe in spontaneity but I also value our safety and security above anything else, hence the importance of researching. We found out about the tour through Metrodeal . For P3399.00 per person, we are entitled to (1) a 3D/2N stay at a hostel/inn, (2) a round trip transportation fare and (3) a tour in the town proper. Excluded in the package on the other hand are the following: Tour guide fee to Sumaging Cave/cave connection - P150 and P450 per person respectively Tour guide fee to Bomod Ok Falls - P100 ...

Good evening at "Buon Giorno!"

Image
Following the line ups of the boyfriend and I's "food bucket list," we recently dined at one of the famous restaurants in Tagaytay which is  Buon Giorno! Caffe and Bistro. " Good morning" when translated in English but their dishes are not limited to breakfast meals. They have a wide variety of salads, pastas and pizzas per se. It is located at The Cliffhouse along Aguinaldo Avenue, with other food concessionaire such as Cafe Breton, Fruits in Ice Cream, and  Fire Lake Grill among others. The criteria that made Buon Giorno! famous in addition to the variety and quality of food it offers is the location - it is overlooking Taal Lake. Let's talk about these two further. We ordered an appetizer, a pasta, a main course (which included a salad) and a dessert and our verdict are as follows:  Croquettes with Mozarella Verdict: It's almost the same with California Pizza Kitchen's Fried Mozarella  except that the croquettes have rice which made it...

The Project Pie Experience

Image
While other couples fulfill their travel bucket list, the boyfriend and I are taking the simple and attainable things first that is, trying out good food from different restaurants which we have also read on social media sites. For yesterday's "Saturdate," we tried Project Pie. The ambiance is similar to Yellow Cab and Army Navy that the boyfriend thought it was another sister company but reading through their site, I discovered it is an internationally owned company franchised here in the Philippines. To set the expectation, it is not like the salad bar in Wendy's wherein you get to assemble your food on your own but rather, you instruct the artisan on what ingredients you wanted for your pizza. Looking at their menu, you can choose on two options (1) choose a number - where you get to pick from their pre-set pizzas or (2) build your own - where you get to pick the ingredients you want from their variety of toppings. You pay as you order and they will just call ...

Unleashing the "kid" in us at The Mind Museum

Image
What started out as a simple date at the San Agustin Church Museum, turned out to be the new born hobby of the boyfriend and I. To date, we've also been to Ayala Museum, The National Museum of the Philippines and the fourth and most recent - The Mind Museum.  Let me just share with you first some highlights of the three previous museums. San Agustin Church Museum was I guess the most memorable since it was also the day we officially became together. There were life size relics of saints and other antiques found during the Spanish Era. On the time we visited the Ayala Museum , the main highlight of their exhibit are gold relics found in different caves around the country. It is a four story building and is well maintained with full blast air conditioning units and properly functioning elevators. It should be the case since the entrance fee is quite pricey at PhP 425.00 for regular admission and non-resident (of Makati). What we enjoyed most at The National Museum of the Philipp...

Food tripping at Binondo

Image
Craving for authentic Chinese dishes but is on a tight budget? No need to worry, there is a place that can answer that concern and satisfy those demanding palate. Where else? You got that right – Binondo. The boyfriend and I love to eat. No wonder we are gaining all these unnecessary fats. We are also one of the living proofs that any food, when shared with the one you love, becomes really delicious. So one fine day we decided to go to Binondo and try some of the specialties in famous restaurants located in the area that we found out from previous blogs. First stop: Lord Stow's Bakery Name of Food: Egg Tart Price: PhP 42.00 (2 pcs) Rating (1 lowest, 5 highest): 4 Verdict: It tastes like Egg Pie but the consistency is much smoother and of course the crust is thinner since it is a tart. Moreover, the sweetness is just right.

My take in finally "moving on"

Today, as most workers celebrate “Labor Day” in the Philippines, I am officially welcoming my self as a new member of another organization. Others are enduring long lines on job fairs while I am already counting the days to my first salary to my new employer. It was not an easy path and decision but I have decided to move on by accepting their offer. It’s amazing how a simple decision from a choice of only two options: yes or no, can suddenly turn our worlds into anew. And of how you spend minutes, hours or even days contemplating and plotting a matrix of pros and cons just to make sure that you arrive to the best decision. But I learned that in whatever path you chose to select, you always have to make up to it whether it was the most appropriate or not.
