Amid My Silent Reverie

Money definitely doesn't (and shouldn't) make the world go round but it is a tool that we use to help us bridge one day to the other. As small as P8 in a jeepney can transport me from Biñan to Sta. Rosa while a P10000, without seat sale, can bring me to Singapore. We have different values and knowledge when it comes to spending money but we all have one common goal - to alleviate or prevent ourselves from hitting rock bottom poverty. How can we do it?

Now, we've come to the end. This has been the best adventure that my husband and I undertook to date. So even if I'm a bit sad, this is probably my last entry for the blog series "Wedding Insider."  But looking at the brighter side, it is an opportunity to write other interesting topics in the future. That being said, let us end this on a high note. All weddings are perfect for every newlyweds. By the term "perfect" I meant that the bride and the groom brainstormed together to plan it, spent a couple of their weekends scouting inexpensive supplier options instead of resting and chose to dump date nights just to save money. Most importantly, if it felt like it's the happiest day of their lives, then I consider it as the epitome of perfectness. What was your perfect wedding like?

What is the most sought after event after the wedding? Yes, a no-brainer, the honeymoon! We were fortunate because initially, we don't have any plans for this. Or at the very least, we were only thinking of taking an overnight stay in Batangas because we can't afford to go out of town. How in the world can we think of going to Bohol or Palawan when we can't even find a way to make the ends meet just to pay for our wedding? But I guess that's the magic of it. You get unexpected gifts from the people close to you and then you are instantly in for a sweet escape. Salamat po ng marami! We love Bohol!

The good news is - YES! Just like what I said in my previous blog , you just have to decide and work on the budget that suits you. The fiancé and I came from a Catholic household so it was somewhat an expectation that we get married at the church. Admittedly, at first, we opted to do civil rites because we said we only had less than a hundred thousand to spare. Through time, and when he finally popped the question "formally," I started looking for suppliers. Here's how our plans evolved: Which would you choose?

I was browsing my Facebook memories when I happen to see the time where I went to Ilocos with one of my closest friends. It led me to reflecting that we have known each other since we were in second year high school but when college came, just like with any other friends, we went our different ways. It was only last 2012 that we started "rekindling" our dormant friendship. Despite meeting her after a long time, there were no feelings of indifference. It really felt like we only saw each other yesterday. Still close as ever. Mending a broken heart is a great excuse in seeing your friends and being closer with them MORE than before. I am one lucky girl to have friends who are like this even if we don't talk and see each other often.
