One of the many gems in the town of Cavinti

Everyone is excited at the thought of long weekends. It is a great way to catch up with our loved ones, TV series, readings or even sleep! Speaking from a personal experience, all four are my favorite for every occurrence of holidays. I wish there'd be more for this year though! At the end of the day, we all need to pause and recharge after all the stresses we acquired from work. If I have a lot of money to burn in my pocket, I could've wanted a 3D/2N out of town vacation. But because we need to prioritize our expenses, the boyfriend and I chose to go on a long drive instead. No doubt that it is waaaay cheaper but you still get to spend quality time together. Hello?! Marami pang susunod na holidays and occasions para sa ganung tipo ng bakasyon. For this particular day, we went to the Japanese Garden at Cavinti, Laguna. Intially, we were supposed to go to Makiling Botanical Garden. I can't seem to remember in detail what happened the last time I visited and it was the boyfriend's first but unfortunately, it is closed during holidays.  Pero nandoon na kami eh..  might as well go ahead with our second option. We just ate at Bonito's Restaurant along Grove, Los Baños. If ever you pass by here, try ordering their Parmesan Potato Fries - it's the bomb.

Super Sarap!

After making sure that our stomachs are full, we head out to Cavinti. Going back in there makes me suddenly nostalgic since I spent four months of my undergraduate practicum in the third and fourth districts of Laguna. These consists of Victoria, Cavinti, Luisiana, and Siniloan, to name a few. After almost three hours of driving from LB, we arrived at the Japanese Garden. It is a hilly nature park situated at the Lumban-Caliraya-Cavinti road and climbing to the top gives you a view of the Caliraya Lake. The entrance is only twenty pesos and there should be no worries for parking slots because there are ample spaces inside. Wandering inside, we saw that it was a great place for picnic, jogging, sight-seeing and just day-dreaming. The locals are lucky for having that spacious park in their neighborhood.

Because there is really no other way but UP. =)
The boyfriend looking handsome and fit. Hindi halatang inaantok galing sa pag-drive!

Fishing is also allowed in the area. But I did not saw what species the people have caught.

A couple enjoying the romantic view ahead.

We stayed for a little over 30 minutes only because we don't want to go home during sundown. Safety first, friends. I think that is a big requirement for all travelers, ensuring that they may be able to arrive and go home in one piece. Being able to breathe fresh air and discovering a gem at the far and less known place of Cavinti is already enough for us. Now, won't you agree that looking at the photos seem to be very inviting and relaxing? If you are a nature lover and long drive enthusiasts like us, go visit the place. Just don't forget to bring a mat, snacks, board games and your family and friends so you can fully enjoy your stay here.

I can't wait for our next long drive, my love. =)
